TOUR-TIPS DATA SERVICES

Tour-Tips is now offering two new forms of golf data supply: databases of historical golf data and spreadsheets of current week golf events. This data is much richer and focussed than the standard form of analysis on the main site and can be either downloaded directly from this site (the database files) or sent via email (the weekly formsheets).

DATA FILES

As with the databases used on the main Tour-Tips sites, these files cover all the primary Tours since 1996, numbering over 5000 events and over 2 million rounds of golf. As well as being able to download rather than merely query, the primary differences between these data files and those on the main Tour-Tips site are:

 - Individual round statistics (e.g. DD, GIR, PPR, Par3 scores, Par4 scores, etc.) rather than tournament average statistics on all the main Tours: since 2004 for the PGA Tour, since 2005 for the European Tour (though such round-by-round data for this Tour will be incorporated into the datafiles shortly dating back to 1999), Champions, Nationwide and Japan Tours. Several other Tours are available from later years.

- Player scorecard data for each Tour event on the European Tour since 1999 and on the PGA, Champions, Nationwide and Japan Tours since 2005, though the data files will be updated shortly to include all scorecard data for the PGA Tour since 2001).

 - Bi-hourly weather data for every round in each PGA, European, Champions and LPGA Tour event since 2004.

- Results from non-Tour events such as Q-Schools on the four main Tours and the end of year events such as the Nedbank Challenge and the Chevron World Challenge.

The data files are organised into a Master file which is available for download and Weekly Update files which are available for download by 4am UK time each Monday.

A sample of this data file for a single event is available to download here. [If unable to open the file, use the trial version of Winrar]

There are three levels of subscription to the data files: a subscription to receive the master files and/or weekly update files for one tour (choice of either PGA plus WGC or European incl. co-sanctioned events); for both the PGA and European Tour data together; and for all Tours in the database (currently 17 in total).

The prices:
One tour - Master file = £1000; Weekly Update file = £5/week or £150/year.

Two tours - Master file = £1500; Weekly Update file = £7.50/week or £225/year

Three tours - Master file = £2000; Weekly Update file = £10/week or £300/year
WEEKLY FORMSHEETS

These formsheets are best viewed as more detailed alternatives (or even complements) to the Event Stats tables on the main Tour-Tips site. As such, they are Excel spreadsheets which display relevant statistical information about each player for any particular event and a standard template would include:

- A one-page display of current and course form for each player, consisting of a summary of each player's finishing positions over the last three months broken down by week and clearly marked to indicate the event/Tour and the player's finishing positions on the course (or in the event, if different) since 1996.

- A summary of each player's ranking in the key statistical categories on the Tour of interest (now includes world rankings).

- Detailed results and stats in separate worksheets for staging of the event since 1996 or for each occasion that the course has been used since 1996.

The above is only a standard template. There is the ability to customise these formsheets to the user's preferences in terms of results/stats to be displayed. There is no shortage of golf stats, so it is merely a matter of deciding how best it should be displayed to make player analysis easier.

The weekly formsheets are not available for download due to the desire to provide a customised product, but are sent out via email by 10am UK time each Monday.

A sample of this weekly formsheet for a single event is available to download here.

There is the ability to subscribe to one week's formsheets via the online payment screen for any of that week's events. However, for longer term subscriptions to the formsheets, contact
Stanley@tour-tips.com for details of other payment or invoicing methods that may be more appropriate.

The prices:
For one week: £25 for the 1st event formsheet; £20 for the 2nd event formsheet; and £15 for each subsequent event formsheets. Contact Stanley for details of longer-term arrangements.

There are also significant discounts available for people who would only use these formsheets for personal and not commercial use. Contact Stanley for details.
